Internships
JTM Construction works to build the strength of its professional departments through the recruitment and training of college students. Our summer internship program is designed to foster relationships with students eager to obtain experience in the field of construction management.
Program Goals:
- Gain exposure to construction methods and terminology both in the field and in the office.
- Increase understanding of the relationships between various parties of a construction contract including owners, architects, project managers, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop an understanding of the responsibilities of a project manager.
Internship Experience could include:
- Quantity take-offs
- Preparing estimate documents
- Tracking and issuing purchase orders and subcontracts
- Change order processing
- Review of shop drawings, submittals and scheduling
Qualifications: To qualify for an internship with JTM Construction the applicant must be a third-year student of a four-year college program in Construction Management or Engineering.
Compensation: Compensation may take the form of an hourly rate of pay or a stipend depending upon the parameters of the internship.
